Brief info

Joanita Ricketts is a seasoned executive with over 20 years of investment banking experience. Her most recent role was Managing Director in the Corporate Advisory Group at MUFG, Japan's largest, and the world's fourth largest, bank. There she provided strategic advice around multibillion-dollar M&A transactions and capital structure solutions to Fortune 500 clients and private equity firms in the consumer and business services sectors. Aligned with her dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion, Joanita co-led the Inclusion and Diversity Council for MUFG’s Global Corporate & Investment Banking and Global Markets divisions in the Americas; led the Howard University recruiting team; served as senior advisor to the firm’s Black employee resource group; and was a member of the firm-wide Executive Inclusion and Diversity Council.

Joanita hails from Discovery Bay, Jamaica and was valedictorian of the class of 1993 at St. Hilda’s Diocesan High School in St Ann. She graduated magma cum laude from Howard University’s School of Business in 1996 with BBA in international business and later pursued a master’s degree in Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins University. She currently resides in NJ with her fiancé and their fur baby Luca.
