Brief info
Isiaa Madden developed an interest in art and architecture at an early age. At 15yo, she followed her passion and worked during the summer holidays at Harold Simpson and Associates. She attended Sam Sharpe Teachers College for two years where she majored in art before leaving Jamaica. She attended the prestigious Howard University in Washington DC and graduated in the Class of 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in architecture.
Isiaa is a prominent Architect with 28 years’ experience within the building and development industry in Jamaica. She worked with Duncan Sharp and Associates as a Junior Architect from 1996 to 1999. She is now the Principal Architect and owner of her firm, Design HQ Ltd, which she founded in 1999. She has a wealth of experience within the building and development industry.
She engages in project management and construction for some of the larger hotels on the north coast of Jamaica. Most recently having branched off into the designing and project management of commercial plazas, medical facilities, townhouse developments, villas and mid to high rise residential hospitality projects.

She has spearheaded other projects in the restaurant industry such as Ricks Cafe Restaurant, Porto Bello, and Pier One Restaurants.
Outside of the rigors of working for her architectural firm, she has served and continues to serve on Government and Private Boards such as Doctors Cave Membership Club, National Housing Trust, National Works Agency, and Western Regional Health Authority. She is also a guest Lecturer at the Montego Bay Community College for design in the architecture program.
She is heavily invested in community service in the following projects:
• Maddens/ Dovecot yearly back to school grants for fifty children within ten public schools in Montego- Bay and its environs.
• Madden’s/ Dovecot yearly Christmas poor dole for hundreds of needy persons.
• Adopt-a verge program to beautify the centrally located verge on Howard Cooke Blvd with landscaping and art to be maintained by Dovecot Memorial Park.
• Barracks Road primary, spearheading the construction of a new classroom block by soliciting donations from colleagues and friends within the Montego Bay community.
She is proud of her two beautiful children, Zuri, and Aziza. Isaa encourages people who have crossed her path with her personal motto, which is to follow your passion, be your brother’s keeper, serve your community and live your authentic life.
