Glaister is a chemical engineer and serial entrepreneur turned asset manager. Glaister is CEO and founder of Calabash Asset Management LLC. Calabash works with each client to understand their specific investment needs and create portfolios to meet their long-term objectives. Calabash employs a low-risk and growth investment approach and earns returns through long-term business ownership in well managed organizations.
He is currently a Regional Operations Manager at Kaiser Permanente. His prior experience as a chemical process engineer and operations manager has given him a strong desire to focus on process. He is a published author of a book on investing as well as several journal papers on topics that vary from biochemical hazardous remediation to investing strategies in the has identified and replicated his nascent strategy that has demonstrated resilience and an ability to produce absolute market returns.
Glaister has worked on several entrepreneurial ventures including Nature Isle Tropical Gourmet LLC, a condiments company that, at its peak, penetrated 250 specialty grocery stores in the US market.
Glaister has a Master’s degree in chemical engineering graduating magna cum laude from Howard University in 1995. He also attended Case Western Reserve University while pursuing an MBA. Glaister is a trained Statistical Master Black Belt and Project Manager. Glaister has worked in various capacities at several organizations, including GE, Avery Dennison and GEICO and Kaiser Permanente. He lives in Maryland with his wife, Crystal and their four children; Jadyn, Jace, Jared and Jabari.
He enjoys playing and watching soccer, running and playing tennis and is the occasional golfer. He plans to run a destination marathon in each of the next five years.
