Welcome To JHUAN!

The Jamaican Howard University Affinity Network (JHUAN) or 'J1' was created to provide greater support to Jamaican students at Howard University. Thanks to the collaborative efforts of Honorable Audrey P. Marks, Jamaica’s Ambassador to the United States, and Dr. Wayne A.I. Frederick, President of Howard University, JHUAN was established in 2018 with the mission to serve the Jamaican student community at Howard University through scholarships, mentoring and career development.

Who We Are

A Jamaican Community/Affinity group within the HU Community

Our goal is to increase the pipeline of Jamaican students that successfully matriculate through Howard University. Over the last several years, the total number of Jamaican students on campus has grown at an average rate of 16.7%. JHUAN is here to provide support to the growing number of students studying at Howard and to encourage them to become lifelong supporters of their alma mater.

HUes of Blue - 4th Annual Fundraiser Event

We will host our 4th annual HUes of Blue scholarship fundraiser on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 5:30PM ET and we are thrilled to announce that we are going back to an in-person event. Please join us as we bring the vibes for a worthy cause raising dollars for our exemplary scholars.

Giving back is a part of who we are and the sheer purpose of JHUAN. If you are a graduate of Howard University or just an affiliate who believes in JHUAN’s mission, you are welcome to donate.
